For our team members, this post contains information and details about this Sunday's event in Philadelphia.

On the home page of the site where you registered for this event you will find an option to click on “Event Details” and then you can click on “Team Tent Layout” which shows the location of our tent among the 38 (yes, 38!) teams that have earned tents.  Or, here is the direct link:

We are marked tent #12 and we are on the part of Logan Circle that is closest to 18th Street (rather than 19th Street) and Vine Streets. For those using GPS you should put in the Four Seasons Hotel, One Logan Square, Philadelphia, 19103.  If you have any trouble getting the layout of the area link, email me and I will send it to you in PDF form.  The map also shows toilet locations, the donut station (but we have earned donuts in our tent), the location of the post race buffet, which starts at 9am (very important!) and the table for same-day sign-ups labeled “Race Day Registration” (which starts at 7am).

Check-in for our team members who pre-registered online will be at our tent (rather than at the “Pre-registered pick-up” table) beginning at 7am and go until the start of the run.  Again, we will have your race day packets in our tent that morning so you do not need to get them in advance of the event. Come by, grab your race bag, your number, a donut and have fun!

I am excited to report an anonymous person who knew and loves Joseph has donated bracelets for this year's event. The first 20 toddlers, 100 kids (youth size) and 100 adults to check in at our tent will receive a bracelet that says, "Joseph's Station...Tough - Strong" which I think perfectly sums up the little boy who inspired this team.   Joseph, even at 2 1/2 years old, was one of the toughest and strongest people I have ever known and I am so grateful to this anonymous donor for helping us recognize that.

Nearby parking lots/garages are available at 18th and Cherry (closest location), 1919 Arch Street and 18th and Arch Streets. There are also less traveled lots at 1800 Vine Street, Philadelphia, 19103 and, a little further, at 19th and Callowhill Streets, Philadelphia, 19103 – they are supposed to be open on event Sundays.  There are several lots in that area as well (near the courthouse at 1801 Vine Street).  I am not sure which forms of payment each lot accepts so its probably best to bring cash.  There may also be parking (depending on availability) at the Four Seasons Hotel and street parking considering it is early on a Sunday morning.  Please account for traffic close to the race location and give yourself plenty of time.

The run begins at 8:30am and the walk follows the run up the Ben Franklin Parkway.  The event is rain or shine and it sounds as though it will be “shine” or something comparable (yay!).  For those registering on race day you may do so starting at 7am at the general registration table not far from our tent (“Race Day Registration” on layout map.)  You are free to bring any strollers you may need for littler ones – there is plenty of room.  I will also have two good friends of mine watching the tent while the event takes place so, although I would encourage you to keep valuables with you, you may leave a bag at the tent while you participate in the run or walk.
